Who is responsible for your data

This website is run by Milica Predojević, an independent online English teacher working under the name English with Mili. She decides what happens to the information described below, which in data protection language makes her the "controller".

What is collected, and when

Nothing is asked of you for simply reading this website. You can browse every page without giving a single detail about yourself.

Information is collected in only one place, the form on the Contact. When you choose to send a message, it asks for:

• Your name, so the reply is not addressed to a stranger.
• Your email address, so there is somewhere to send the reply.
• Your phone or WhatsApp number, which is optional.
• Your English level, which is optional and helps Mili prepare.
• Your message, in your own words.

If you agree to visit statistics, some technical information is also recorded. That is described further down under Cookies and visit statistics.

Why it is used

Your message is used to answer your message. That is the whole purpose. It is not added to a mailing list, it is not used to send you offers later, and it is not used to build a profile of you.

In legal terms, the reason for handling your enquiry is that you asked for something before deciding whether to book lessons, which the GDPR calls taking steps at your request before entering into a contract. For visit statistics the reason is your consent, which you give or refuse yourself.

Where your message goes

When you press send, three things happen:

• Your message is saved in a private area of this website that only Mili can open, protected by a username and password.
• A copy is emailed to Mili so she sees it quickly.
• An automatic confirmation is emailed back to you, so you know the message arrived.

The delivery of those emails is handled by a specialist email provider working under contract. That provider may only deliver the message and may not use its contents for any purpose of its own.

How long it is kept

Enquiries are kept for up to 12 months after the last contact between you and Mili, and are then deleted. If you go on to book lessons, the messages connected to those lessons are kept for as long as you are a student and for 12 months afterwards.

This is not left to memory. The website checks for expired enquiries by itself and removes them, so the deadline is kept whether or not anyone remembers it.

You do not have to wait for that period to pass. Ask at any time and your message will be deleted sooner. Two honest caveats: a copy sent to Mili’s email inbox is deleted separately when she clears it, and the technical version history behind the site can hold an earlier copy for a while after the message itself is gone. Neither is published anywhere or used for anything.

Cookies and visit statistics

A cookie is a small file a website leaves in your browser so it can recognise something on your next visit. This site keeps them to a minimum.

Google Analytics is used to count visits and see which pages people actually read, so Mili knows which lessons and articles are worth writing next. It records the pages you open, roughly which country you are in, and the type of device and browser you use. Your IP address is shortened before it is stored, so it does not identify you. There is no advertising on this site and your visit is not used to target you with ads anywhere else.

Analytics only run if you agree. If you are visiting from a country whose law requires it, a short notice appears at the bottom of the screen with two equal choices, and nothing is loaded until you pick one. Choosing "No thanks" means no analytics cookies are set and nothing is sent to Google.

Your answer is remembered in your own browser. To change it, clear the browsing data for this site and the notice will appear again on your next visit. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time. Nothing on this site stops working if you do.

The contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, a check that tells a real person apart from an automated script. It is needed for the form to work at all, since without it the form would fill up with spam. It does not follow you around other websites and it does not profile you.

Countries outside Europe

Some of the providers described above operate outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States. Where information leaves Europe, those transfers rely on the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses, which oblige the provider to protect your data to a European standard.

Your rights

Whatever country you are in, you are welcome to use all of the following. You do not need a reason and you will never be charged.

• See it. Ask for a copy of what is held about you.
• Correct it. Ask for anything wrong to be fixed.
• Delete it. Ask for it to be erased.
• Pause it. Ask that it be kept but not used while a question is being sorted out.
• Object to it. Tell Mili to stop using it.
• Take it with you. Ask for it in a common file format you can move elsewhere.
• Change your mind. Withdraw your agreement to visit statistics whenever you like.

Write to hello@englishwithmili.com and you will have an answer within 30 days. If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom and you are not happy with the response, you have the right to complain to the data protection authority in your own country.

Keeping it safe

The whole site is served over an encrypted connection. The private area holding your message is reachable only with a username and password that belong to Mili alone. Access is limited to her, and no part of your message is published anywhere on this website.

No system is perfect, and anyone who claims otherwise is selling something. What is promised here is that the amount of information collected is kept as small as possible, which is the most effective protection there is.

Children

Lessons are taught to teenagers as well as adults. If you are under 16, please ask a parent or guardian to make first contact on your behalf, so that they know what has been shared and can agree to it.

Changes to this policy

If the way information is handled changes, this page is updated and the date at the top changes with it. Where a change is significant, a notice will appear on the site rather than being left for you to discover.
